About this item

Frank Ligtelijn for Raak glass wall light, The Netherlands 1961

Brown, smoked glass globe wall lamp by Frank Ligtelijn for RAAK, Dutch design 1961.

Beautiful wall lamp from RAAK. The wall lamp features a glass globe on a metal ring. Because the globe rests in the ring, it can positioned in various angles.

RAAK was a Dutch lighting manufacturer from the mid-century. They created many great lighting object with designers like Frank Ligtelijn, Nanny Still-Mackinney, Tapio Wirkkala, Bertrand Balas, Maija Liisa Komulainen, Sergio Asti and more. Raak was one of the most recognized lighting manufacturers of the Dutch mid-century and maybe even the Dutch counterpart of the Italian Sarfatti and Arteluce. The floor lamp by Frank Ligtelijn is seen on page 28 of “Gino Sarfatti, 1938-1973 selected works”.

A Dutch Classic in good condition.

Lamp is suitable for 220v. Because of the lower voltage in the USA it can be used without replacing the lamp socket. If desired, we can replace the lamp socket and wiring to USA standards. Please ask us for the possibilities. When present, we will always replace the power plug to match correct country standards.
