A matching pair of “RY16” Chest of Drawers or Commodes by legendary Danish designer Hans J. Wegner for Ry Möbler. Made in Denmark in the 1950s.

This type of commode was designed by Hans J. Wegner in the 1950s. A couple of versions exists, some have different drawer layouts and others have different wood veneer. Our couple is the four drawer edition made of teak. Not often you’ll find a matching pair like this. The two can be used separately, but also combined as a sideboard or credenza.

The cabinets are in vintage condition. It has traces of use to the wood veneer, but no structural damages.

An important pair of Danish mid-century modern by one of the greatest designers of that era.

Hans J. Wegner is probably the most important and reconized designer of the Danish mid-century.
